My friend Addie showed up at our house one afternoon with this neat new accessory on her arm. In addition to the various Mexicali Blues bangles and festival wristbands she sports on a daily basis, she stole a lobster tag from her brother and added it to her growing stack. This type of tag is used for lobster traps and the different letters and numbers signify whose trap it is, what year and state the trap is registered in, and the fishing zone. Sadly, a local lobsterman, husband, and father in our community passed about a week ago. His wife visited their favorite bar a few days later to pass out his tags to friends and family in remembrance of him. A friend (whose wrist it wouldn’t fit) gifted one to me as a going away present before I left the state.
